This 3D projector is definitely at the top of my wish list this year! I am an extreme movie-lover so I would love to have that movie experience at the comfort of my own home. I and friends do a similar thing by renting a device from the Projector Rentals Pocatello based outlet in our place and we will have a DVD marathon at my backyard.

  30. Thanks for clarifying this – “A 3D source, 3D content and 3D glasses are required for 3D viewing”. I have read about this new projector on lot other websites, but this info was missing all over. I have been asking around but to no answer.

  31. Rodrigo says:

    Hi,

I’m also interested in the Optoma HD66.
But, as you say, there is no info about the glasses.
they are clearly not included in the box. Have a look at this review, the guy doesn’t even know that he should have 3D glasses. He’s looking at a steteo image without glasses.

Have you found any information about compatible glasses?

There is also an interesting interview to an Optoma promoter about it.
He does mention the 3D Glasses, but where are they?

Let me know if you have any new information.

  32. weir3d says:

as with every other 3d projector, you need to have active shutter glasses like nVidias 3D Vision goggles. they are above $100, so no wonder they are not included…

  33. Kamlesh says:

Is it worth buying Optoma HD66? i happen to come across a review that it has very bad color projection, giving greenish yellow tint. Another review pointed about flicker and rainbow effect. Pl. share your experiences that will help me to decide. Other choice for me is Acer’s. Pl mail your comments on drkamleshmehta@yahoo.com

    Thanks.

It will use glasses that optoma is supposed to be releasing, but you can use “Xpand 102″ or any DLP Link shutterglasses. You will also have to have a decent PC to run content.
