Weber Q Gas Grill Line Expanded for 2006

March 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Weber-Stephen Products Co., the premier manufacturer of outdoor grills and accessories, has added three new gas grills to their Weber Q line, including the first Weber Q stationary backyard grill.

In response to consumers' overwhelming demand for the original Weber Q and Baby Q portable gas grills, which feature a unique, futuristic design, Weber has added three new models: The Weber Q 120; Weber Q 220; and the stationary backyard grill, the Weber Q 300.

"The Weber Q has become a favorite with consumers who love the power of this grill and appreciate its additional portability and ease of use," said George Rassas, marketing manager for Weber. "We also gave these grills a totally new, stylish look that caught a great deal of attention -- particularly among females -- and that's why it's now the number one selling table top gas grill in America."

The original Weber Q and Baby Q portable grills grew to such popularity beyond serving as a superior portable gas grill. Many consumers were also buying the Weber Q Rolling Cart and the 20-pound LP tank Weber Q Adaptor Hose to set them all up as their permanent backyard barbecue. Because of this, Weber has responded with the new Weber Q 300 stationary backyard grill, which combines the sleek style of the original Weber Q line with additional power. The Weber Q 300 features two stainless steel burners to allow indirect cooking with 393 square-inches of cooking area. Priced at $369, the Weber Q300 offers an entry level stationary backyard grill option below Weber's Genesis gas grill line, which retails for $499 and up.

An added design benefit of the Weber Q 300 is its small footprint -- a useful feature for those whose outdoor space is limited. When its side tables are folded up in the grill and the lid is closed, the Weber Q 300 is a compact 36.5 inches in width and 22 inches in depth. Its height, with the lid closed, is almost 44 inches.

Features on the two new portable Weber Q grills are:

-- The Weber Q 120 is the original Weber Baby Q with the addition of fold-out side tables. It's priced at $169 (MSRP).
-- The Weber Q 220 is the original Weber Q with a taller lid in order to cook larger foods such as roasts. In addition, the Weber Q 220 has a thermometer built into the lid to help ensure perfect grilling each and every time. It's priced at $229 (MSRP).

As the family of Weber Q grills has now grown to five, Weber renamed the original grills and gave the entire line a series of numbers that simplifies the differences among each model:
