The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort Opens Luxury Spa

The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort in Mexico announces the grand opening of its new luxury spa facility at the expansive all-inclusive resort complex that includes the Premium Level five-star Barcelo Maya Tropical and Colonial Beach Hotels. The new spa welcomes guests with Mayan influenced architecture and European style spa services.

The Spa is located in a beautiful garden area of the resort offering a tranquil retreat. Treatment services include Swedish and Mayan style massage, couples massage, flotation therapy, hydrotherapy and Vichy showers. In addition, there is a traditional Mayan Temazal Lodge (a traditional Indian sweat lodge). Other services include eight outdoor cabins for tropical massages, and full beauty services such as facials, manicures, pedicures and hairstyling. For relaxation there is a resting area with an indoor waterfall overlooking the gardens.

"Our extensive spa services are unique to our region and combine the best of European tradition with local customs and products," said Stefania Ballotta, Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Mexico, Barcelo Hotels & Resorts. "Some of our signature services include the Green Coffee Body Wrap; a Luminous C and Sea Facial, and the popular couples message 'Under the Stars," added Ballotta. Spa services are priced from $80 US for a facial, $100 US for massage therapies, and from $30 US for Hydrotherapy services. Reservations may be made by guests of the resort at the concierge desk upon arrival.

Adjacent to the spa is an expanded fitness center with new cardiovascular equipment such as stairmasters, elliptical trainers and an Ultratile floor designed for cushioning. The new spa and fitness center is connected via covered archway to the existing fitness center which will now house the weight and fitness room.
