Wii Fit Plus Launches October 4; New Colors of DSi, Wii Remote Coming

 Nintendo Wii Fit Plus

Nintendo's new Wii Fit Plus game will hit U.S. stores on October 4, the company just announced. They also revealed new colors for its DSi system and for the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers as well as the Wii MotionPlus accessory.

The Wii Fit Plus has new features, new exercises, yoga activities and balance games. Workouts can also be customized to target specific areas of the body, or set to last a certain amount of time. Wii Fit Plus will replace the current Wii Fit, and will be bundled with the Wii Balance Board for $99.99. For current Wii Fit owners, the Wii Fit Plus disc will also be available on its own for $19.99.

Beginning Sept. 13, the Nintendo DSi will be available in white and pink, (blue and black versions will remain available). All models of the DSi have two cameras and interactive options to let users create and manipulate pictures or sound. The DSi sells for $169.99.

Also, Nintendo is releasing a new black version of the Wii Remote bundled with a black version of the Wii MotionPlus accessory. A black version of the Nunchuk controller also will be available in time for the holidays. My question is this: Why? The Wii doesn't even come in black! Perhaps one is on the way?

Nintendo DSi: Play Music, Download Games, Take Pictures

Nintendo DSi Nintendo just announced that their next generation DSi will be coming out on April 5th with an MSRP of $169.99. It will be available in blue and black. I was kind of surprised that they are offering it in only two colors, but who knows…maybe more color choices will be announced closer to the release date.

What makes this new DSi stand out is the DSi Camera – it actually has two cameras - one camera is on the external body, and the second one points at the user when it is flipped open. It has 10 different interactive "lenses" that you can use to do all kinds of silly things to your photos; like stretch faces, add glasses, combine pictures etc. using the touch screen.

Another feature is the DSi Sound application, which is both a voice recorder and music player. But it goes a step further, by letting you choose different audio filters to control the pitch, speed and tempo of a song or recorded voice. There is also a stereo headphone output so you can listen to music saved on an SD card. Read more
