Epson is jumping into the label maker business with the new LabelWorks LW-300 and LW-400, both announced today.
Epson’s first line of portable label makers not only help you get organized, but allow you to get creative, offering 14 font types, 75 frames and more than 300 symbols. They can be used with more than 40 tape cartridges available in traditional colors as well as specialized media such as fluorescent, pearlized, iron-on, reflective, and glow-in-the-dark. Thanks to smaller side margins, you’ll have less wasted tape as well. Your label is printed with a perforated back, so you can quickly peel it and stick it to your files, household items, or just about anything else.
The LabelWorks LW-300 works with tapes in a variety of widths ranging from six millimeters (~1/4 inch) to 12 millimeters (~1/2 inch), and features built-in memory for fast access to the 30 most frequently used labels. The tapes are available in standard colors, as well as specialty colors and textures such as fluorescent, pearlized, iron-on, reflective, and glow-in-the-dark (as mentioned above). Highly durable as well, they can be used both indoors and outdoors. Epson LabelWorks LW-300 has an MSRP of $39.99.
The LW-400 steps it up a notch, with a two-line, back-lit display. It also features built-in memory but can store up to 50 labels, and can accommodate tapes up to 18 millimeters (~3/4 inch) wide. In addition, the LW-400 has expanded specialty print modes that include custom barcodes, cable and wire wrap and a tab function that prints a mirror image, so you can see what’s in that folder no matter which way its turned. The Epson LabelWorks LW-400 has an MSRP of $49.99.
