With all the buzz surrounding Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Master Replicas (the only company licensed by Lucas Film to recreate Star Wars props) has introduced a new light saber. It includes motion sensors in the hilt (handle) that sense swinging motions, standing still, and making contact--toggling off sounds taken directly from Lucas Film's sound studio. The polycarbonate blade glows with 60 ultra-bright LEDs that light up in sequence for the power-up and power-down movements.

More information:

Version: Blue - Anakin Episode III saber; Red - Darth Vader Episode V saber
What it does: Light up, sense motion, make sounds
Lights: 64 ultra bright LEDs in a polycarbonate (the material used to make lenses in sunglasses, etc; really tough and lightweight) blade. The lights are serially-linked for that power-up and power-down light display.
Motion sensors: A couple of these in the hilt can sense the motions: swinging, rest, and contact from the blade.
Sounds: The audio clips are linked to the motion sensors to play designated tracks for idle, swinging, and contact motions (e.g. a "crash" sound for contact). The sounds used in the lightsaber are taken directly from the Lucas Film sound studios from the very audio clips used in the movies.
Hilt: It's machined from metal; it's only slightly larger than the ones in the movies because it has to hold batteries etc.
Availability: They are currently available through Borders, Target, ToysRus, and Walmart, among others
Price: $119.99
