Karl Lagerfeld Fashion Show Available on iTunes
Fashion Guru Karl Lagerfeld, who has been noted as one of the most influential fashion designers of the late 20th century, making his name as an independent creator who has collaborated with a variety of fashion labels such as Chloe, Fendi, and Chanel, is now re-designing the way we use technology. Following the close of the New York fashion Week he will debut his fall/winter 06' show via Podcast, marking it as the first fashion show to be made available on the iTunes Music Store. It will also be available on the designer's website www.karllagerfeld.com a few hours after the event.
The show will be taped in High Definition and Lagerfeld will be working in joint with CORE audiovisual production company (an editing, effects, motion design and original music firm based in Saint Louis) and will be using Apple's video editing suite Final Cut Pro to edit the runway show on site, along with Motion based graphics added in a near real-time process. Additionally Lagerfeld will be using Aperture, Apple's new all-in-one post-production tool for photographers, enabling Lagerfeld to immediately compare and choose between thousands of images and be able to cull them down to select moments from the runway. Unlike Fashion TV which began in 1997 which provides subscribers with a 24/7/365 satellite feed of fashion shows around the world, Karl Lagerfeld's Podcast would give tech savvy designers and fashionists around the world the convenience to have the event on their personal media player.
Currently subscription to Podcasts on the iTunes Music Store is free and delivers such shows as ABC News, CNN, ESPN, NPR, and any time and anywhere; giving iPod users the latest new, radio and now fashion at their finger tips. www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts
