Own a Mitsubishi TV? It Might Already Be 3D-Capable

 Mitsubishi LaserVue L75-A91

3D technology is popping up everywhere; not just in movies but in video games, sports programming, and you can't walk in a Best Buy without seeing 3DTVs everywhere you turn. But, did you know that if you own a Mitsubishi TV, it might already be 3D capable? That's right! Mitsubishi has been selling 3D-capable TVs since 2007…well before it became the biggest thing to hit the consumer electronics industry.

Mitsubishi says there are more than a half million consumers out there that may not know their TV is 3D-capable. To find these owners, they just launched a social media campaign to educate and notify consumers who could be watching 3DTV by just adding a Mitsubishi 3D Starter Pack and 3D Source device. And what would a social media campaign be without a sweepstakes? U.S. residents (18 years and older) can enter to win the grand prize - a Mitsubishi 75-inch LaserVue 3D-capable TV - by simply becoming a Facebook fan of Mitsubishi TV. Also, anyone who enters can win the second prize, a 60-inch Mitsubishi 3D DLP Home Cinema TV. The contest will also give away one Mitsubishi 3D Starter Pack, a $449 value, each week for eight weeks.

Mitsubishi Takes 3D Ad Campaign to the Movies

 Mitsubishi WD-73838

Mitsubishi knows just where to go to advertise its 3DTVs – the movie theater. Confident that movie-goers will want to bring the 3D experience home, the company launched a 3D advertising campaign in conjunction with Legends of the Guardian in 3D, released on September 24th.

Good thinking on Mitsubishi's part. You see, the majority of 3D screens in the U.S. are powered by DLP technology, so most theatergoers are watching the latest 3D movies on the same core technology that powers Mitsubishi's 3D DLP Home Cinema TVs.

As part of the ad campaign, Mitsubishi is distributing more than half a million coupons for a free Mitsubishi 3D Starter Pack, a $399 value, with the purchase of any Mitsubishi 3D DLP Home Cinema TV or 3D LaserVue TV. The coupons are being distributed in more than 500 theaters and can be redeemed online directly from Mitsubishi. Read more
