LUMIX GF3 is Panasonic's Smallest, Lightest Interchangeable Lens Camera Yet

Panasonic on Monday unveiled the LUMIX GF3, the company's smallest digital interchangeable lens system camera with a built-in flash. About the size of a smartphone, the 12.1 -megapixel LUMIX DMC-GF3 measures 4.24 inches wide, 2.64 inches tall, and 1.28 inches deep (without lens), and weighs in at a mere 7.83oz (body only).

The camera features a 3-inch touchscreen LCD display offering touch control of shooting, playback, effects, along with a touch-controlled tracking autofocus system. The GF3 also has a mode thumb wheel for those who prefer a traditional DSLR mode dial.

Additional features include 1080i AVCHD video recording at 60fps, RAW shooting, Panasonic's Intelligent Auto mode, new iA Plus mode, a pop-up flash, and an accessory port for external flashes. Read more

June 13, 2011 – Panasonic today announced a new interchangeable Micro Four Thirds lens, the LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm/F1.4 ASPH. (H-X025), compatible with the company’s LUMIX G Series of compact system cameras (CSC), including the LUMIX GF3, which was also announced today. The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. lens features outstanding brightness of F1.4, and despite the high-performance, it also remains incredibly compact and lightweight. The lens’ brightness allows for a beautiful soft focus when shooting both photos and videos – without having to rely on a flash.

The LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25mm / F1.4 ASPH. lens adopts Panasonic’s Nano Surface Coating technology on the surface of the lens, which helps dramatically minimize reflection at the entire visual light range (380nm-780nm). Panasonic LUMIX DMC-G3 Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera: Small Size, Big Features

Panasonic on Thursday announced the LUMIX DMC-G3, the company's smallest and lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder to date. The LUMIX G3 features a new 16.0-megapixel CMOS sensor and records 1920 x 1080 full- HD video with stereo sound in AVCHD.

Along with its 3-inch LCD touch screen, the LUMIX G3 has a built-in flash and a hot shoe and offers 4fps burst shooting at full resolution, subject-tracking AF while recording video, and a picture-in-picture manual focus magnification option. It also has a new 'Pinpoint AF' mode, Panasonic's iA2 and new iA Plus modes, and an external dial for modes like Program, Shutter and Aperture Priority, Manual.

Made of aluminum, the 11.84 oz (body only) LUMIX DMC-G3 will be available in black, red, white and brown in June 2011. The LUMIX G3 with the 14-42mm Zoom Lens Kit will be priced at $699.99.

Panasonic Unveils LUMIX DMC-G10, DMC-G2 Micro Four-Thirds Cameras

Panasonic has two new Micro Four-Thirds cameras hitting store shelves soon, the LUMIX DMC-G10 and LUMIX DMC-G2. The new G10 is touted as the "world's lightest digital interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder" while the G2, another digital interchangeable lens camera, sports a movable LCD for touch-control.

The new LUMIX G10 shoots 12.1-megapixel still images and can record 1280 x 720 HD video in Motion JPEG, QVGA, VGA and WVGA formats. It comes packed with features such as iA (Intelligent Auto) mode for both still images and video, a range of AF modes, Venus Engine HD II technology, a Live View Finder, 26 Scene modes, and My Color mode with seven preset effects. This third generation of the Olympus PEN series features a 12.3-megapixel Live MOS image sensor, 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD, in-body Image Stabilization, Imager Autofocus, Olympus Dust Reduction System, the TruePic V Image Processor and is the first in the PEN series to include a built-in pop-up flash.

The E-PL1 also has a new Direct Button for HD movies which lets you instantly switch to video recording if you're about to take a picture but realize video would be better.
