Budget conscious audiophiles, take note! This spring, MartinLogan started shipping its ElectroMotion-ESL (EM-ESL) – the most affordable full-size electrostatic loudspeaker available today. Featuring a 34-inch tall curvilinear XStat electrostatic transducer, the EM-ESL sells for $1,995 per pair, a bargain when it comes to electrostatic speakers.

The EM-ESL is MartinLogan's second sub-$2000 speaker. The company's first, the Aerius, launched back in 1992 and sold in record numbers. The EM-ESL's panel is housed within a radical aluminum and composite AirFrame which increases the electrostatic panel's rigidity without obstructing surface area or interfering with the speaker's dipole radiation pattern.
