Apple Unveils New MacBook Air

As expected, Apple unveiled an all new MacBook Air at Apple's "Back to the Mac" event held today. The new MacBook Air is faster, lighter and smaller than its predecessor, weighing in at as little as 2.3 pounds. Available now in 11-inch and 13-inch models, the MacBook Air uses solid state storage technology (the same as iPad) and touts a battery life of up to seven hours.

In addition to solid state storage, MacBook Air features Intel Core 2 Duo processors, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics, a full-sized keyboard, glass Multi-Touch trackpad, built-in FaceTime camera, mic and stereo speakers.

Available with an 11.6-inch or 13.3-inch high-resolution LED-backlit display, the new MacBook Air also includes a Mini DisplayPort, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and two USB ports. The 13-inch model also includes an SD card slot.

And talk about thin! The new models measure just 0.11-inches at its thinnest point and 0.68-inches at its thickest and weighs only 2.3 pounds for the 11-inch model and 2.9 pounds for the 13-inch.Read more

Apple Announces Updates to the Entire MacBook/Pro Family

All aluminum unibody MacBook Pros and MacBooks (13-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch models) will feature a lithium polymer, non replaceable, battery to gain up to 40% more life. They will also feature an LED-backlit display, glass Multi-Touch trackpad, an illuminated keyboard, an SD card or ExpressCard slot, a FireWire 800 port, Mini DisplayPort and an NVIDIA graphics. Every Mac notebook achieves EPEAT Gold status and meets Energy Star 5.0 requirements.

Other features of the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro include:
