Samsung Intros Ultra-Slim LED Monitor

Samsung has added a new LED monitor to its SyncMaster line. The SyncMaster XL2370 will be available at Best Buy starting October 12th for $299. It will hit other retail stores in late November.

The XL2370 features an LED edge-lit backlight, 1080 HD resolution, a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and 2 millisecond response time. Movies can be seen in 16:9 widescreen formats without any distortion or stretching. And, not to take up too much space, the XL2370 measures just 3/4" at the top and weighs less than eight pounds.

Runco Unveils New LED Home Theater Projectors

At CEDIA this week, Runco unveiled the first-ever LED home theater projectors - the QuantumColor Q-750i and Q-750d. The QuantumColor projectors use Runco's new InfiniLight lampless LED illumination technology to create energy-efficient systems with beautiful projection performance.

Both projectors also feature Runco's new Personal Color Equalizer, a six-axis (R, G, B, C, Y, M) color adjustment that works like an audio equalizer and allows colors to be individually dialed up and down for every video source.

Samsung's highest performance 1080p LCD goes global next month!


 Samsung XL2370

Samsung's new XL2370 monitor is a 23-inch LED backlit model from Samsung's "Touch of Color" lineup sporting a 2ms response and a full 1080p resolution. The XL2370 also features a "finger-slim" design similar to the 0.65-inch depth of the P2370L model, a dynamic contrast ratio of 5M:1 and VOC-free crystal-like bezel frame to help reduce glare.

Also, note that the XL2370 uses about 40% less power than other LCD models that are currently available in this size. The glossy stand offers a polished design, while the clear, crystal-like acrylic neck gives the illusion that the monitor is floating.

The XL2370 will don the title of Samsung's "highest performance monitor" when it launches in Korea in mid-July. The XL2370 will make its way to its Europe and "other parts of the world" in August.

Toshiba Announces its First Series of LED TVs

The Toshiba REGZA series will see three new additions to its lineup, the XV648, ZV650 and SV670.

First, the REGZA XV648, which will excel when there is extra light in the room. It features Toshiba's CrystalCoat technology that stops ambient room light reflections from washing out the picture, creating 30 percent better contrast in bright rooms.

Next, the REGZA ZV650, which will come equipped with Toshiba's ClearScan 240 technology combing 120 frames per second with advanced Backlight Scanning Technology to create a 240Hz effect. This new system also helps the ZV650 series attain its high 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, combining amazing picture clarity and incredible picture depth.
