KODAK Mobile Service Offers New Solutions in Mobile Photography

April 5 – The wireless industry is known for their innovative technologies and forward thinking consumer products, however a recognized challenge still remains… Why aren’t consumers getting pictures off their handsets? Recent studies note that 25 billion mobile images are captured annually on 300+ million handsets, yet most of the captured images simply sit on the phone! Kodak recognized this challenge early on and introduced the KODAK Mobile Service in 200X. KODAK Mobile (www.kodakmobile.com) provides consumers around the globe with an easy way to view, share and store their camera phone pictures – responding to the industry’s need for mobile photo innovations, and encouraging personalization.

KODAK MOBILE is focused on creating exciting new picture sharing experiences for users, including:

•  KODAK Mobile Movie is a new kind of sharing experience for camera phone users, allowing them to send an animated slideshow movie with background music and cool transitions to anyone with an email address directly from their mobile phone. Kodak is initially offering this exciting new mobile photography experience through existing mobile operator partners in the European and US markets and will run on various Sony Ericsson, Motorola and Nokia phones in spring/summer 2006. Kodak Mobile Movie was developed in partnership with Simple Star, a start-up San Francisco company with expertise in multimedia technologies.
•  Effortless uploading of photos & video with ShoZu provides users with one click or automatic upload of their camera phone photos and video immediately after capture to their KODAK EASYSHARE Gallery account. Shozu leverages the Cognima replication technology and allows for full resolution transfer of images without the quality degradation typically associated with transfer over MMS resulting in the highest quality prints from camera phones. ShoZu is a free, downloadable application for Series 60, Windows Mobile and select Java handsets that is not carrier specific. Consumers simply visit http://shozu.com/kodak to create a free account and install the application on their phones.
  
•  KODAK Mobile Postcard The KODAK Mobile Service Postcard application allows consumers to send personalized photo postcards right from their camera phones and have a 4’x 6’ card with a personalized message and real KODAK photo mailed directly to friends and family members back home, straight to their (physical address) mailbox. Postcards can be sent anytime, anywhere from a variety of phones including MOTOROLA V710, V260, V265, V276; KYOCERA: KX2 and the AUDIOVOX CDM-8940 on the VERIZON Wireless network. The KODAK Mobile Postcard Application can be downloaded in pre-paid single-use increments for $1.99 or in bundles of three postcards for $4.99, and five postcards for $7.99. All first-class U.S. postage is included.
  

KODAK Mobile Phone Wallpaper lets camera-phone users personalize their phones by downloading their favorite images and saving them as wallpaper on their handset. These may be digital camera-captured images, images taken with a mobile phone or pictures that have been shared online by friends and family members. Mobile Phone Wallpaper is easy to create in a few simple steps and is available to subscribers of major wireless carriers including, Verizon Wireless, Cingular Wireless and T-Mobile. Mobile Phone Wallpaper costs $1.49 each with a free KODAK Mobile Service membership.
