Stay Ahead of the Tech Curve

Most people these days have houses full of digital gadgets and machines. From computers and laptops to mp3 players, televisions and gaming systems, Americans have a penchant for staying on the front edge of personal technology.

However, technology continues to move at a dizzying pace making products faster, smaller, more integrated and more efficient. To stay ahead of the curve, take a look at these product ideas given to us from Personal Tech Experts at BluePhone:

 Eee PC 1000 Series

Mini Laptop - With enough processing power for most any kind of everyday use, and a small enough form factor to fit in many purses, mini laptops with screens from about seven to ten inches are a great option for people on the go, or looking for an ultra-sleek laptop computer. ASUS has been making the EEE-PC for a few years now, but has been making improvements that make them more and more viable as a true computer. Dell makes the Inspiron Mini 9, which has about the same form-factor as the EEE-PC, but comes backed by the well known Dell name. Neither one will hit the wallet very hard – both are about $300.Read more

Weather-Resistant Kodak Zx1: HD Video On-The-Go

Kodak Zx1 Kodak is extending their line of pocket video cameras with the Zx1 weather-resistant camera. It shoots 720p HD video at 30 or 60fps and stores the video on standard SD/SDHC cards. There is built-in software to ease editing and uploading to YouTube. I look forward to seeing how the claims of good quality with low-light turn out.

The new Zx1 is smaller and cheaper than their own Zi6. Another pocket video camera is the Flip lineup.

With a price of $149.95, the Kodak Zx1 will be available Spring 2009 in five different colors.

Kodak was Lost, and now it is Found with the Zi6

Kodak Zi6The pocket video camera is all the rage with those regularly posting to YouTube. Now HD (high definition) video is more important than just "plain-old-video". Where 720p at 60 frames per second produces quality content for your 16:9 LCD or Plasma televisions in smaller cameras. The Kodak Zi6 has a USB arm that “pops” out of the side of the camera when prompted. The camera powers itself from two AA batteries, and Kodak makes sure you have rechargeable batteries with the charger with this purchase. The expandable memory card slot is a great option, as there are 32 GB SD memory cards in the market. There are also cables that come with this camera for easy viewing on any HDTV.

For $179 MSRP this camera is worth the money for the easiest solution to capturing video today. As Yoda would say, "A Great Holiday Gift this would make." Who knows … the person you buy this for might be the next George Lucas.

Motorola ZN5 Raises Bar on Phone Cameras

Motorola MOTOZINE ZN5 Nearly every phone these days has a camera, but almost all of those take small, blurry, practically useless pictures unfit for even being part of the latest Facebook photo album. Useless and obsolete camera phones now face stiff competition from Motorola’s latest release, the MOTOZINE ZN5. By teaming up with Kodak, Motorola is able to offer users a fine phone and camera experience beating other “call and clicks” available in the marketplace.

Professional camera designer Kodak endowed this phone with 5 megapixels of power and the feel of a Kodak digital camera. With a camera like shutter button, flash option and viewer placement, the camera on the ZN5 looks less like a cheap afterthought and more like a prime strength of the phone. Combine it with easy sharing, and you finally have a camera on you at all times that you won’t mind taking pictures with.
