Understanding Apple's iPhone and iPod Touch

iPhone As Apple continues to update its products it's no wonder that the iPod and the iPhone continue to headline around the tech world. With the release of the iPhone and the iPod Touch options where communication and portable media were concerned changed forever. With the recent updates to both the iPod line and the 3G iPhone, understanding both the features and fallbacks of each device becomes more important when it comes down to purchasing. The iPod Touch and the iPhone make look the same, but they're not.

Differences in Price

To start with the basics, there is always price. The iPhone comes in two models (with two color choices) 8GB and 16GB in either white or black. The 8GB sells for about $199 and the 16GB for $399. The real pricing trick comes with the obviously required AT&T service plan (that can usually go from $60 or above). As of right now there is no way around a two-year contract with AT&T. Read more

Pro iPhone Monitors - the Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10vi

TripleFi 10vi Ultimate Ears has been known for their personal monitor earphones that are custom fitted by taking an impression mold of the ear. This attention to detail follows to their universal fit products too. Instead of using a single driver for all frequencies, the TripleFi has a design more like larger speaker systems - three drivers and a crossover to split up the frequency distribution.

The TripleFi 10vi is designed for use with the iPhone or Blackberry with a 1/8" (3.5mm). It has a in-line microphone and button to make phone calls. The button also is used to pause and play music or video. The cable is almost 4ft unlike some shorter ones seen lately. It comes with small, medium, and large silicone ear tips, foam tips, 1/4-inch adapter, extender cable and a metal carrying case. They also include an attenuator to use when connecting to unfamiliar sources like on airplanes.

As you can expect from Ultimate Ears, the TripleFi 10vi are pricey at $419.99. But, hey order from Ultimate Ears and you get a tshirt too.
