August 30, 2006 -- HP today announced that its consumer notebooks will be available for the first time with the Intel® Core 2 Duo mobile processor. The HP notebooks available with the latest Intel processor include the HP Pavilion dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC, HP Pavilion dv9000 Entertainment Notebook PC and Compaq Presario V6000 Notebook PC. These notebooks are also available with the choice of mobile AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core and mobile AMD Sempron processors.
The new notebooks are available to configure-to-order starting today at www.hpshopping.com, at participating retail kiosks, or by calling +1-888-999-4747. The notebooks will also be available for purchase at retail locations in the coming weeks. The estimated U.S. street price for the Intel-based dv6000 is $799 before a $50 rebate, $749 before a $100 rebate on the V6000, and $1,349 before a $50 rebate on the dv9000, depending on the configuration ordered. Please note these are starting prices for notebooks with the Intel® Core 2 Duo mobile processor.
