MiCorder Converts Any Audio to MP3

 MiCorder

There is a new product that makes recording music and audio files easier than ever – MiCorder. Developed by Olens Technology, MiCorder can record from any radio, computer, stereo, CD player, phonograph/turntable, cassette deck, 8-Track, reel to reel, DAT, or any device with a stereo output to create MP3 audio files -- without using a computer.

MiCorder records from audio sources by simply plugging into the earphone jack, converting the sound into an MP3 file, and then storing it on an SD Card. Yes, there are other products out there that convert music from albums, cassette tapes etc. to MP3 format, but most require a special turntable or computer. Not MiCorder! It converts sound to an MP3 and records directly onto a standard SD Card. Then, simply transfer your music to a computer, iPod, cell phone, MP3 player or car stereo. Read more

Hammacher Unveils First 3D Video Camcorder

 Hammacher Schlemmer 3D Camcorder

Hammacher Schlemmer recently unveiled the first 3D video camcorder available. The camcorder has two lenses which work in unison with its 3-megapixel image sensor to record slightly differing images. They are then interlaced to create a 3D video.

Videos are recorded in 640 x 480 pixel resolution as AVI files. A 4 GB SD card (sold separately) stores up to four hours of video or 2,000 3D still images. The camcorder features a 31/4" TFT display and shows content in 3D with no glasses required. Hammacher's website states that "movies can be viewed on the included media player's 7" screen because it is overlaid with a parallax barrier that displays video in 3D without the need for 3D glasses." However, to view on the media player, content has to be transferred to the player via SD card.

The camcorder can also shoot standard 2D movies and pictures.

Hammacher's 3D Video Camcorder has an MSRP of $599.95 and comes with a USB cable for copying content onto a computer.

The Only 3D Web Camera

 The Only 3D Web Camera

We haven't heard from Hammacher Schlemmer in awhile. It must be because they were working on their latest product - what they call The Only 3D Web Camera. Just be sure you don't throw away your 3D glasses from any of this summers' blockbuster movies because you'll need them!

Here is how it works: Its "eyes" are dual cameras that record a stereoscopic image, or anaglyph using the same technology used in 3D movies. The two cameras can capture video at 800 x 600 resolution at 15 frames per second and it can focus in up to 12" away. The 3D video can also be recorded and uploaded to YouTube and Facebook, and the video is compatible with most IM services such as Windows Live Messenger, Skype, AOL Instant Messenger, OoVoo, Videora, Windows Movie Maker, and Stereoscopic Player. The camera also lets you display picture-in-picture videos. If you want to chat in 2D, simply switch to 2D mode. Sets of 3D glasses are included with the camera…but like I said…don't throw away any extras you may have lying around…pass them around to your friends!Read more
