PS Vita Demo Units Arrive at GameStop

Sony's newest handheld gaming system goes on sale February 22, but if you want to be one of the first to try out the device, you can head to one of more than 3,300 GameStop locations for a playable demo unit of this new technology. Decide you have to have one? GameStop also announced that they will give you $25 toward the purchase of the new PS Vita when you trade in your existing Nintendo DS, 3DS or Sony PSP system.

The PlayStation Vita features a five-inch OLED multi-touch screen, front and rear touch pads, dual analog sticks, dual cameras and six-axis motion sensing system. A variety of games will be available to demo, including:

Nintendo 3DS Pre-Orders Begin

Earlier this week Nintendo announced that their portable, glasses-free 3D gaming system, the 3DS, would be hitting store shelves on March 27th. Now, (as you would expect), several retailers have already started offering pre-order opportunities.

  • Best Buy is taking pre-orders for both the Cosmo Black and Aqua Blue 3DS systems
  • Amazon is also taking pre-orders for both the Black 3DS and Blue 3DS. Note: the 3DS qualifies for Amazon's free Super Saver shipping. There is a limit of one pre-order of each per household.
  • GameStop is also taking orders. Both colors are available.

There is no mention of any freebies or bundles at this time, however, beginning Monday, Jan. 24, GameStop is offering those who trade in a DS Lite, DSi or DSi XL towards the purchase of a Nintendo 3DS an in-store credit up to $100. See your local store for details.
