Yale Intros Locks Designed to Integrate into the Digital Home
Touchscreen Deadbolt and Lever Locks Are First Products in Yale's New Portfolio of Intelligent Home Control and Security Solutions; Will be Unveiled at 2011 International CES
January 6, 2011 - Yale Locks & Hardware (www.yalelocks.com), an ASSA ABLOY Group company and a world leader in door hardware for residential and commercial applications, will officially introduce its first locks specifically designed to integrate seamlessly into the digital home. The locks will be unveiled at the 2011 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, January 6-9, 2011.
These new deadbolt and lever locks are the first products in the Yale Real Living portfolio of residential access control and home security solutions. Available with either a sleek capacitive touchscreen or pushbutton key pad, Yale's new platform of intelligent locks supports both Z-Wave and ZigBee, allowing them to integrate seamlessly into a wide range of home control and security systems.
Yale will be displaying the locks in two separate areas at CES:
- In the Control4 booth, the new locks will be shown operating with the recently launched Control4 2.0 user interface, which will allow the homeowner to directly access and control all of the lock’s unique features.
- It will also be displayed in the Z-Wave pavilion operating with multiple home control systems, including the including the Vera Z-Wave home control system by Mi Casa Verde.
Regardless of the home control system employed, users will have access to a high degree of functionality, including the ability to lock and unlock doors from any web-enabled device events or create customized entry scenes for family members, neighbors and guests.
Features of the new locks include voice assisted programming in English, Spanish and French; personalized access-control scenes for up to 250 users; and access to all user programmable settings are available to the controller interfaces via select user interfaces. The new intelligent locks offer an elegant, next-generation access control solution for the home’s entryways and protected interior doors to make everyday living easier and safer.
While pricing is not yet finalized, the lock, which will be available in Spring 2011, is expected to sell for a retail price of between $200-$400. It will be sold through selected consumer electronics dealers, as well as various retail channels.
