Weber Introduces New Summit Series Gas Grills
August 12, 2002-- Weber unveiled its new line of Summit gas grills today at the 2003 National Hardware Show in the city’s McCormick Place convention center.
“In a preemptive industry move, we really pushed ourselves on this new series of six Summit Silver an Gold gas grills,” said Mike Kempster Sr, Executive Vice President at Weber. “The quality of, and the features on these grills surpass anything else in the market at these price points. If you love the name Weber, the new Summit is the best gas grill you can own, period.”
Expanded Cooking Surfaces an Improved Features for a Great Value
Weber’s new Summit Silver and Gold models feature stainless steel burners; expanded cooking surfaces; heavy-duty, commercial grade stainless steel Flavorizer bars (Weber’s patented and superior replacement for traditional lava rock or ceramic briquettes); stainless steel cooking grates’ smoker systems powered by dedicated 8,000 BTU-per-hour input burners; rear mounted, infrared rotisserie burners; and newly developed, heavy-duty side burners. The prices will range from $999 for the Summit Silver A to $1899 for the Summit Gold D.
The new Summit Silver gas grills feature four stainless steel burners and 700 total square inches of cooking space. The Summit Gold gas grills feature six stainless steel burners and 902 square inches of cooking space.
Low Maintenance Work Surfaces
According to Weber’s Vice President of Marketing Christina Schroeder, while consumers like the look of an all-stainless steel grill, keeping work surfaces clean and scratch free is a challenge for many homeowners. “Weber responded to that challenge by integrating the sleek look of the stainless steel with durable, easy-to-clean materials. The new Summit gas grills feature our popular, granite style thermoset work surfaces; they’re scratch and heat resistant and clean up easily with antibacterial cleansers.”
Weber Consumer Support
Expected to be in stores by spring 2003, owners of the new Summit grills will be backed by Weber’s round-the-clock customer service with its 24-hour, seven days a week, toll-free customer support line. Weber also operates the nation’s only hotline for grilling tips and advice, the 1-800-GRILL-OUT hotline, open from April 1 through Labor Day annually. In addition, every Weber customer who registers his or her grill receives a free subscription to the Grill Out Times, Weber’s tri-annual newsletter full of helpful grilling tips, recipes, and how-tos. Consumers can also access more than 250 grilling recipes online at www.weber.com.
