Viking Introduces Gas 24-inch Wide ‘Companion’ Products

Viking Range Corporation, the originator of commercial-type cooking products for the home, is introducing several new surface options for its gas 24” wide ranges including griddle, char-grill, and wok surfaces.

The original Viking gas 24” wide range was recently introduced with four burners on the surface and was designed to appeal to homes with small kitchens, such as urban apartments. Now, in addition to the four-burner surface, consumers may choose companion pieces with an all-griddle, all-char-grill, or all-wok surface. The griddle is commercial-grade, machined steel with a blanchard finish that captures cooking oils to produce stick-resistant cooking. The char-grill features porcelainized flavor-generator plates that circulate smoke around food for outdoor-grilled flavor. And the wok top offers a 27,500 BTU burner for the extremely high heat required for fast wok cooking.

“ The new ranges are excellent to use as companion pieces to an existing range,” said Dave Becker, Viking vice president-product management. “Consumers who desire a larger area for griddling, grilling, or wok cooking can buy a 24” wide product with a total surface designed to provide their specific cooking element preference. It allows consumers to further customize their kitchens to suit their particular cooking needs.”

The oven is identical in each unit, offering the same high-performance features found on Viking commercial-size ranges. The oven provides several cooking modes including bake, broil, convection bake and convection broil. In addition, it features a 1,500 degree F Gourmet-Glo infrared broiler that sears food to restaurant-quality perfection.

The 24” wide products are offered in stainless steel, black, white, almond, biscuit, stone gray, graphite gray, burgundy, lemonade, mint julep, forest green, Viking blue, cobalt blue, and eggplant. Brass trim is also available.
