NEW YORK, Jan. 31 -- An up-and-coming young artist who enters and wins an online talent challenge on Tonos.com, connects with top stars who mentor her and help make her musical dreams come true on the "Road to Fame," debuting Saturday, February 3 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on VH1.
Through the breadth of both its music video and long-form programming, VH1 has long been committed to bringing new artists as well as established stars to its viewers. The one-hour dramatic reality special "Road to Fame" was developed with Tonos Entertainment, Inc. in association with Norton/Connolly Productions, Inc. Tonos is the only music company leveraging the Internet to serve the music creation and discovery space, founded by music industry insiders Carole Bayer Sager, David Foster and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. Tonos focuses on informing and empowering individuals by imparting expert advice, unique music creation tools, and industry access required for long-term success and participation in the music business, providing inspiration, access and insight to musicians and music industry professionals regardless of their talent level or career stage.

"Road to Fame" follows a young vocalist after she is discovered by Tonos and takes her first steps of breaking into the music business, from creating a demo to launching a career. After she is mentored personally by superstar singer Toni Braxton (and meets award-winning songwriter Diane Warren as well), she records a song written by Tonos-discovered Ernest Enoch and Anthony Green, and produced by Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds and Rodney Jerkins; meets with executives from Capitol Records; and makes a video.

Founded by Oscar- and Grammy-winning lyricist Carole Bayer Sager, Grammy-winning producer/composer David Foster and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter/producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Tonos (http://www.tonos.com) is the first Internet site where music industry aspirants, professionals and fans can create music together, obtain guidance and collaborate with accomplished "hitmakers" and access the information, contacts and tools they need to further their music interests and careers. The underlying purpose of Tonos is to not only seek out and develop undiscovered talent through its innovative online Challenges contests, but also to inspire, enlighten and educate musicians and artists around the world.

The three founders of Tonos have among them sold over 500 million albums, garnered 101 Grammy nominations, charted over 100 top ten singles, won 28 Grammy Awards, and worked with a list of musicians that reads like a who's who of the past thirty years of pop music. Tonos' Board of Directors is headed by Bob Daly, CEO of the LA Dodgers, and former chairman of Warner Bros. and The Warner Music Group. Julio Kollerbohm is Supervising Producer and Jane Lipsitz is Executive Producer of VH1's "Road To Fame."

VH1 produces and programs a wide variety of music-based series, specials, live events and acquisition-based programming that keep viewers in touch with the music they love.
