Verizon Wireless Customers Tame Water and Catch Air with AquaX GameFebruary 4, 2004 - Verizon Wireless today announced that Get It Now customers can race through the water doing barrel rolls and double flips with the personal watercraft game AquaX from dwango wireless, a leading developer and publisher of wireless applications and technology. With AquaX, players can earn points for speed, difficulty of tricks or a combination of both in 18 challenges set in six exotic locations. The release of AquaX follows the recent launches of dwango's STAR EXCEED and dwango Racing games for Verizon Wireless Get It Now customers. Get It Now from Verizon Wireless is a virtual store with hundreds of applications available for download over the air - without hooking up to a PC or visiting a Verizon Wireless Communications Store. AquaX players enjoy exciting, realistic high-speed action as they try impressive tricks like airwalks, 360º spins and Nac Nacs on their personal watercraft. Players must pass the time trial, trick challenge and combination run to advance to the next level, with a total of six levels. "The realistic watercraft physics and water effects in AquaX make you feel like you're physically catching air and performing extreme tricks," said Robert E. "dwangobob" Huntley, founder and chief executive officer of Dwango North America Corp. "We're pleased to now be offering Verizon Wireless customers three unique, exciting games that illustrate dwango's advanced wireless gaming capabilities." "With AquaX, dwango wireless has once again introduced a thrilling game that is sure to keep our customers racing, and taming waves, for hours," said Ray Taylor, director of product development of wireless Internet and multimedia services for Verizon Wireless. "This and other recent games from dwango wireless help us offer Get It Now customers a comprehensive library of advanced mobile games right on their phones." Download charges for Get It Now applications vary and airtime charges apply when browsing, downloading and using certain applications. Get It Now customers can download a free two-minute demo of AquaX or pay $3.25 for unlimited use access. Customers need a select Get It Now-enabled handset and Verizon Wireless digital service to access the Get It Now virtual store. Get It Now phones are available in more than 1,200 Verizon Wireless Communications Stores, at participating Circuit City and RadioShack locations, and on the Web at www.verizonwireless.com.
