Universal Memory Exchanger Transfers Data Between Cell Phones and Carriers
April 2005 -Cellebrite USA Inc., the nation’s leading supplier of carrier grade platform cell phone to cell phone content synchronization technology, provides retailers, owners, providers and consumers of wireless technology an easy and fast means to transfer data between cell phones, Smart Phones and PDAs. With the UME-24, people can now seamlessly migrate their personal content and applications between 95 percent of handsets on the market.
Since its debut in 1999, Cellebrite has strived to eliminate the complexity of synchronizing data between cell phones and carriers. The UME-12, the original platform by which the Israeli-based company started, enables a fast and easy migration of stored information from cell phone to cell phone, regardless of cellular service provider or network technology.
Currently, the UME-24 has all the functionality of the UME-12 but offers a new suite of enhanced features. The increased memory enables consumers to transfer all stored cell phone, Smart Phone and PDA data, including phonebook memory, e-mail addresses, URL’s, mailing addresses, ring tones, pictures and other content and personal applications. The transfer is performed through cables, interface, USB and IrDA connection to handsets, and an incorporated internal SIM/Smart Card Reader. The UME-24 supports cell phones, Smart phones and PDAs operating on Symbian TM, Microsoft, Mobile TM and Palm operating systems. Its integrated PC “Phone Book Manager” software solution allows cellular retailers to save, back up or print the end-users stored information. This data, which is often critical to the customer, can then be e-mailed to the customer for back up on his or her own PC.
“The UME-24 expands on the UME-12 through the addition of content synchronization technology from cell phones to Smart phones and PDAs. It also offers increased content transfer capabilities, providing the only end-to-end solution and a more efficient transfer of phonebooks, e-mail addresses, URL’s, mailing addresses, and other stored personal applications content across all major vendors of handsets, Smart phones, and PDAs,” says Adi Ofrat, CEO of Cellebrite. “The new unit has improved processing power, enabling cellular stores and carriers to transfer a wider range of data for customers faster than ever before, elevating Point-Of-Sale customer service capabilities and improving loyalty and customer retention.”
