UMAX Introduces 1.3 Megapixel 4-in-1 Digital Camera

March 12, 2003 -- UMAX Technologies, Inc. today announced the AstraPix 430, the company's latest addition to its line of consumer-friendly digital cameras. The 4-in-1 AstraPix 430 is ideal for beginning digital photographers as well as travelers. The camera offers a set of powerful, easy-to-use features with a bundled suite of digital imaging and video software available now at www.umax.com with a special introductory price of $55 (standard MSRP is $95).

The AstraPix 430 can capture 1.3 megapixel images, 5 simultaneous images in burst mode, short video clips at 352x288 up to 15 fps, and up to 30 fps at VGA and CIF resolutions in Web cam mode. For recording and listening to voice notes and annotations, the camera features a built-in microphone and speaker. The camera also includes a two-mode flash (auto and off), 16 MB SDRAM, optical viewfinder, and an SD memory card slot for additional storage of still images, audio and video.

The onboard 16MB of memory can store up to 9 images at 1600 x 1200 (interpolated), 47 images at 1280 x 1024, 203 images at 640 x 480, 150 sec. video recording at 320 x 240, 52 min. sound.

The AstraPix 430 includes a USB cable, 4 AAA batteries, camera stand, manual, and wrist strap. The bundled software includes camera driver, MGI PhotoSuite 4 SE, MGI VideoWave 4 SE, MGI PhotoVista 2.02 and Microsoft NetMeeting.
