Tropical Setting Provides Backdrop For Asian-Inspired Stillwater Spa
August 2004-- Surrounded by the crystal blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico and Estero Bay, palm trees, majestic sunsets and miles of white sand beaches, the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort provides a tropical sanctuary for its Stillwater Spa.
Offering guests an atmosphere of tranquility and relaxation, the spa combines wellness, relaxation, stress relief and personal care services in a tranquil setting in Southwest Florida, just north of Naples.
Designed on two levels, the 19,000-square-foot spas centerpiece is its state-of-the-art Watsu pool. One of only eight such pools in the U.S., its warm waters (94-99 degrees Fahrenheit) combine with a Shiatsu-style massage to release tension. Watsu was developed from a Japanese Shiatsu massage technique that uses stretching and pressure points to release stress and balance energy. While moving through the water, the body is gently stretched and massaged by a therapist to release energy through Chi pathways. A deeply relaxing treatment, this treatment is particularly beneficial for joint injuries and arthritis.
With a particular emphasis on the healing qualities of water, the spa offers a menu of hydrotherapy treatments that includes an underwater jet massage.
Other massage therapies include aromatherapy, therapeutic massage, reflexology, warm stones and Ashiatsu massage. Couples massages are available in a deluxe couples suite or in room.
An extensive list of facial skin care services for both men and women utilizes the most advanced skin care products and techniques. A line of services designed specifically for teens from 13 to 17 is available and includes a hand and foot paraffin, skin glow mini facial, scalp massage, reflexology, and stone hand and foot massage.
The spa offers a unique facility that takes advantage of our tropical setting and the finest services and products available, says Karen Phillips, spa director. Our highly trained staff provides our guests with the ultimate experience for mind, body and spirit. It is our goal to offer an atmosphere of comfort and relaxation that will inspire wellness and well-being.
The spa also has a spacious and fully equipped fitness center with cardio machines and free weights. The Mind/Body studio overlooks a beautiful natural preserve and offers Hatha yoga and fitness classes, where personal trainers are available. For those prefering to exercise outdoors, the resorts environmentally rich location makes it ideal for eco-excursions, fishing and bird watching.
Locker rooms and treatment rooms are all ADA compliant and an ADA lift is provided at the Watsu pool.
A full-service salon is located within the spa and provides personal care services including manicures, pedicures and hair care.
Guests may custom design their own packages for a day or two of pampering, for a gift or special occasion. A pre-wedding day relaxer for the entire wedding party or a rejuvenating holiday escape is among the many choices. All packages may be designed to include lunch from a spa menu.
