Toro Intros Power Max Two-Stage Snowthrower Line

August 18, 2005 -- Toro’s Power Max line of two-stage snowthrowers are designed with innovative features to make snow clearing quick and trouble-free. The industry’s first major two-stage snowthrower redesign in over a decade, Power Max snowthrowers combine maximum snowthrowing power with breakthrough easy-to-use technology.

The most innovative feature on Power Max snowthrowers is Quick Stick Chute Control, which allows the operator to easily adjust the chute rotation and deflection angle with one simple control. It's as easy as using a joystick on a video game. The operator simply depresses the locking mechanism and moves the chute into position. A position lock keeps the chute firmly in place to eliminate movement of the chute during operation.

At the heart of the line is the Power Max Auger System, which incorporates an expanded impeller housing, expanded chute base and a non-stick surface designed to minimize snow build up. Unlike traditional two-stage designs, the revolutionary Power Max Auger System meters snow intake and returns snow that is not immediately thrown back into the auger, reducing clogging.

The Power Max line also features Toro’s innovative Freewheel Steering system, which includes handle mounted triggers that give the operator the ability to clutch the wheels independently or simultaneously with just the flex of a finger, enabling the wheels to “freewheel.” The user-friendly design makes turning, reversing, and steering adjustments simple and precise, eliminating the struggles to turn at the end of the driveway or to wrestle the snowthrower into the garage. With Toro’s Freewheel Steering, the operator is in complete control of the snowthrower and can move more snow in less time.

“The goal of developing the Power Max line was to make two-stage snowthrower operation easier,” said Matt Medden, Toro marketing manager. “At the same time, we wanted to create a unit that would handle the heaviest snow with ease. Power Max snowthrowers can easily handle the toughest snow and features like Quick Stick Chute Control, Freewheel Steering and the Power Max Auger System keep the operator in complete control of the unit.”

The Power Max line of two-stage snowthrowers includes five models, with MSRP’s ranging from $1,099.95 to $1,799.95. Power Max snowthrowers are available at local Toro dealers and look for the Power Max 826 LE at select Home Depot stores.
