Thermador Revolutionizes Kitchen Design

Jan. 11, 2006-- As the quintessential American luxury appliance brand, Thermador unveils its latest high performance appliances that combine Full Flexibility with advanced functionality and stylish design at the 2006 International Builders' Show. The main highlight of the Thermador Freedom Lounge will be the new Freedom Collection, the first ever Truly Flush Mounted built-in modular refrigeration columns that can be placed anywhere in the kitchen. In addition, a new dual-fuel Pro Harmony Professional Series Range, which sits flush to standard 24" depth cabinetry, 30" Professional Series cooktop for smaller kitchens like in condos and lofts, the built-in Savor Coffee Machine and VCI custom insert ventilation will also debut.

"For more than 70 years, Thermador has been changing the face of the American kitchen with such appliances as the first built-in wall oven, firmly establishing our reputation as a pioneer and industry leader," said Franz J. Bosshard, president and CEO. "In 2006, we are very excited to continue this tradition by launching new products, including the ingenious Freedom Collection refrigeration, that truly grant builders, architects, designers and consumers the flexibility in creating the ultimate luxury kitchen with Thermador as the centerpiece."

Freedom Collection
The Freedom Collection features ENERGY STAR rated 24" and 30" fresh food columns; 18", 24" and 30" freezer columns; and for the first time ever, a fully integrated 36" bottom-freezer with two or three doors. The columns can be placed anywhere in the kitchen as they function independently from one another. Because they are split apart, the units operate on their own compressors and evaporators, eliminating odor transfer between the units and ensuring that the interior temperature is regulated to preserve "market fresh" foods longer. Among the quietest built-in refrigeration units, the collection is available in stainless steel or can be ordered with panels up to 220 pounds to match existing kitchen cabinetry for a seamless, fully integrated look.

Key exclusive features include the unique Freedom Hinge, which allows all the columns to be flush mounted without sacrificing accessibility to the interior and the motorized Liberty Shelf, which conveniently moves a fully loaded shelf up to 22 pounds with the simple touch of a button.

Pro Harmony Professional Series Dual Fuel Range
Flexible to fit any sized kitchen, Thermador's 24" depth Pro Harmony Range is Truly Flush Mounted, creating a seamless look with standard cabinetry. With the addition of the 30" and 36" dual-fuel version, Thermador broadens its offering so that more builders, designers and consumers can experience the benefits of the brand's class-leading Professional Series ranges.

Savor Built-In Coffee Machine
Recognizing an emerging trend in high-end kitchens, Thermador is introducing its new 24" stainless steel Savor Automatic Coffee Machine, which integrates into any style of cabinetry and adds to the brand's full suite of unique luxury appliances. With the ability to brew espresso, cappuccino and coffee, the Savor delivers an authentic and unmatched experience through the revolutionary SavorSwirl, a stainless steel pressurized chamber that completely engulfs each freshly ground granule from the machine in water, resulting in maximum flavor extraction from each bean for an incredibly rich taste -- in under 60 seconds.

Other high performance appliances featured in the Thermador Freedom Lounge include the 27" depth Pro Grand Professional Series Ranges, built-in wall ovens featuring a breakthrough control system, gas and electric cooktops, traditional built-in refrigeration, Powerfully Quiet dishwashers, warming drawers, downdraft ventilation and Char-Glo drop-in outdoor barbeques.
