Thermador Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Built-In Wall OvenApril 2005 – In 1955, the classic appliance brand Thermador invented the first built-in wall oven, forever changing the face of the American kitchen. To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of this historic milestone, Thermador will host a nationwide recipe contest and sweepstakes representing 50 years, 50 states and 50 recipes. Contest winners will have their unique recipes published in Thermador’s Taste of America Oven Recipe Cookbook and all contestants will be eligible to win a new 50th Anniversary Ford Thunderbird. “Thermador has a history of firsts that have shaped the luxury kitchen and made it an American Icon brand. Our invention of the built-in oven transformed the American kitchen, and to this day, we have continued to create numerous advancements to our top-rated wall ovens, including a breakthrough control system and the only 30” triple configuration series on the market today. In commemorating our past, present and future, we celebrate our consumers and their love of cooking by giving them an opportunity to share their talents with others,” said Franz J. Bosshard, president and CEO. Individuals from all over the country are invited to submit an original oven recipe, which represents the tastes and culture of their state. All recipes will be judged, based on taste and regional distinction, by nationally acclaimed chef Bradley Ogden, winner of the James Beard Foundation 2004 “Best New Restaurant” award for his self-named restaurant at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas. Only one recipe from each state will win, with all contestants automatically entered in the “50 Years of the Built-In Oven Sweepstakes” for the chance to win a 50th Anniversary Ford Thunderbird. “I’m excited about participating in a nationwide search for recipes to create a cookbook that represents the best in American home cooking,” said Ogden. “Our country’s gourmet cuisine has its roots in the home cooking that began with simple wood ovens and continues with today’s built-in ovens that Thermador pioneered. It’s going to be great fun reviewing and celebrating recipes that will continue to inspire excellence in American culinary arts.” Thermador’s Taste Of America Oven Recipe Contest begins April 1, 2005 and ends July 15, 2005. Thermador’s Taste of America Oven Recipe Cookbook will be released in January 2006. Entry information and official rules can be found at www.thermador.com/contest.
The Oven that Started it All
The New Generation All of Thermador’s ovens have an advanced convection system that uses a powerful 2,750-watt third convection element working in conjunction with top and bottom elements to ensure even heat distribution in multiple cooking modes. This system allows for multi-rack cooking, so you can prepare a whole meal at once with even heating and browning and without the transfer of food flavors. The hidden bake element is covered by a high-quality porcelain enamel finish, increasing oven capacity and making clean up easier. Thermador’s exclusive lightning fast preheat also offers valuable time savings since it takes less than nine minutes in most cooking modes. At 4.9 cubic feet, the 30” models offer the largest capacity oven on the market. Other features in the entire collection include the CookControl precision temperature-controlled meat probe, bright halogen lighting angled downwards to spotlight food, a more robust porcelain broiler pan for easier cleaning, heavier racks to support larger food items and an enhanced door/hinge system for softer opening and closing. As part of its anniversary celebration, Thermador will also produce a special limited edition wall oven model with a unique mirrored exterior that will add style and elegance to any kitchen.
