Sprint Launches the PCS Vision Music Channel

June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Music fans want immediate access to the latest music information and Sprint is putting that information in the palm of their hands. Today Sprint unveiled the PCS Vision Music Channel -- a wireless site that features the latest music applications from Sony Music, Warner Music and Rhapsody. The PCS Vision Music Channel will offer a one-stop wireless source for accessing the first real-song ringers, streamed music clips and the industry's first full-length tracks, including pre-released material. The site will also offer customers music recommendations and will feature the latest information on artists and exclusive new releases.

Sprint offers one of the most comprehensive selections of wireless ringtones in the U.S., the most popular categories including urban content, new releases and voice ringers. Since the launch of PCS Vision, more than 10 million ringers and screen savers have been purchased and downloaded on Sprint's enhanced nationwide PCS network. This is in addition to the more than two million games and millions of pictures that have been purchased, shared or downloaded by PCS Vision customers.

The PCS Vision Music Channel can be accessed from the PCS Vision home page, and will feature:

-- Sony Music Artist Channels: A different artist will be featured each month. From the site, customers will be able to access content such as artist information, video clips, artist interviews, games and ringers.

-- Sony Music Channel: Content will include artist news, pictures, tour updates and links to Sony Music artist content.

-- Warner Music Application: The United States' first wireless music streaming service -- soon to be featuring full-length tracks

-- Rhino Records: Artist information, pictures and links to Ringers

-- Rhapsody: Thousands of music recommendations, artist bios, artist discographies, full-color artist images and album art

The PCS Vision Music Channel is the latest addition to Sprint's extensive portfolio of wireless entertainment, including downloadable Java applications, animated, voice and polyphonic ringers, and the industry's first ringers from actual songs.

Sprint announced 1.3 million PCS Vision customers through the end of first quarter. PCS Vision from Sprint includes services that allow customers to take and receive pictures from select PCS Phones; browse the Internet at speeds faster than most dial-up connections; check personal and corporate e-mail; watch clips and stream audio for news and music; download polyphonic, animated and voice ringers, and full-color, graphically-rich games and screen savers.
