Southwest Airlines Introduces Wireless Check-InJan. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Starting today, Southwest Airlines Customers can be closer to the travel information they need while on the road and away from their computer. By visiting http://mobile.southwest.com , Customers can get access to several key southwest.com features including:
* Flight Check-in "With the growing popularity of web-enabled mobile devices, we wanted to offer our Customers the convenience of checking in for their flight wherever they may be," said Kevin Krone, Southwest's Vice President of Marketing. "This is just one more example of how we are striving the make the travel experience even easier for our Customers."
How it Works: Customers then enter a confirmation number and the first and last name of one of the passengers listed in the reservation. Once checked in for the flight via the mobile device, Customers can simply proceed to the airport and go to the nearest RAPID CHECK-IN Kiosk to print the boarding pass. The system will recognize that the Customer has already checked in for the flight and will print a boarding pass reflecting the boarding group that was indicated on the Check-in Confirmation screen of the mobile device.
