SLOGGERWEAR To Be Introduced at the National Hardware Show

August 2003 - As manufacturers and retailers prepare for the National Hardware Show in Chicago from August 10 to 13, 2003, SLOGGERS, the premiere makers of garden footwear, makes its final preparation to introduce SLOGGERWEAR, the industry's first full line of active wear designed exclusively for gardeners. The move is motivated by the company's goal to position itself as "THE Garden Outfitter" and provide a full line of apparel, footwear and accessories designed to further promote gardening as a "lifestyle," rather than simply another outdoor activity.

"Gardeners are artists," explains SLOGGERS President David Hoyt, "who relate to the earth and nature as a painter would to a canvas." After surveying the market, SLOGGERS research and development team realized that no other manufacturer was providing a full line of comfortable, functional, stylish, and well-priced clothing for gardeners. Seeing apparel as the natural extension of SLOGGERS core product, the Garden Clog, the company retained Los Angeles-based fashion designer Debra Stevenson to incorporate their patented systems into clothing that the gardener will want to wear all weekend long.

The high-quality, detailed line includes Gardener's Pants with interior kneepad pockets, an Italian-styled Gardener's Apron, and a versatile Gardener's Vest with a similar patented design system as the Gardener's Smock - all in 100% cotton and available in women's sizes S, M, L & XL. The line also includes durable t-shirts and hats as well as the company's popular shoes, clogs and boots for men and women. Men's clothing will be introduced for Fall 2004.
