Skylink Group Broadens Home Alert Product Line

July 16, 2004 - Concerned about your family's safety or your home flooding or leaving your garage door opened and unattended? If so, you are not alone. The Skylink Group, a leader in wireless technology, has announced five new product lines to deal with these common household stresses.

Product lines include the Garage Door monitor that notifies the homeowner when their garage door is left open. The Door/Window Alert which instantly notifies the homeowner when a window or door is open. The Water Alert that senses water throughout the residence and notifies the homeowner when there is an unexpected leak or flood in the basement, bathroom or even under the sink. The Motion Alert that acts as an indoor/outdoor movement detector system. The sensors send a signal to a remote receiver that provides homeowners with visual and audio indicators. The Household Alert notification system that alerts homeowners when the garage door is left open, and alerts when motion is detected surrounding the home and/or business.

"We are very proud and excited about our new product lines and are confident that homeowners will benefit from these innovative approaches to home security and safety," said K.Y. Leung, Director of Sales and Marketing for the Skylink Group. "People can rest easy and hassle free knowing that a Skylink product is installed in their home," he added.

Skylink's Household Alert Notification Systems are wireless and cover a range of up to 300 feet. Homeowners can tackle set-up at ease, which eliminates costly installation charges. As well, a special "supervised feature" monitors the systems sensors and their battery condition, alerting the homeowner when a battery change is required. The complete alert product line is CE approved and suitable for the European market. The alert notification systems are also ideal for the blind and hearing impaired.

"We have shaped a wireless product that provides homeowners with a trouble-free self-installation, eliminating the need for costly installation charges, which provides direct savings to the customer," said Leung.

"Wal-Mart is pleased to carry the Garage Door Monitor and Household Alert systems in our stores," said Jim Colman, hardware buyer, Wal-Mart Canada. "The fact that each receiver can work with up to four sensors and the competitive price point should make the systems an attractive alternative to costly security systems."
