Sharp Announces Design-Focused 2002 Appliance Line
March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Sharp Electronics Corporation today will spotlight key appliance products that tie into the company's vision for the ultimate high style, high performance kitchen. The company will highlight Sharp's newest microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, air conditioners and kitchen- mountable AQUOS Liquid Crystal Televisions in kitchen lifestyle settings.

Following are brief descriptions of Sharp's key products on display at the 2002 Appliance and Kitchen Design Press Event being held today in New York. New High Speed Oven (model R-90GC) Sharp is previewing the R-90GC high speed oven, which produces delicious results and cooks food up to five times faster than conventional cooking appliances. Pre-programmed to automatically cook more than 200 foods and recipes, the R-90GC is ideal for families looking to free up time for other activities and homeowners who are "on-the-go" yet want quality meals cooked quickly. The high speed oven's technology is as professional as its looks, with a 2,900-watt advanced hot-air circulation system that rapidly cooks food in significantly less time than standard ovens. The R-90GC will be available in the second half of 2002 at a suggested retail price of $1,199.95. R-1200 Series Over the Counter Microwave Ovens (models R-1200/01, R-1210/11) Sharp added new sensor models (R-1210/1211) to its revolutionary Over the Counter (OTC) Carousel microwave oven line for increased cooking convenience. The innovative OTC line was originally developed as a new product category by Sharp in response to consumer demand for more flexible microwave oven solutions to help reclaim counter space. The OTC microwave ovens offer a new approach in kitchen design by enabling easy and affordable installation in previously hard-to-reach places, including corner cabinets, above islands, over food preparation areas and in nearly any wall cabinet in the kitchen. The 24-inch microwaves are easy to install and do not require special built-in kits or tools. Owners can simply place a mounting bracket where desired and attach the microwave. The OTC microwaves also feature accent and task lighting, with Auto-Touch(R) controls on the door at eye level. Models R-1210 and R-1211 are available now at a suggested retail price of $299.95. Models R-1200 and R-1201 (non-sensor) are available at a suggested retail price of $279.95. Over the Range Microwave Oven Line (models R-1500/01/02, R-1510/11, R-1514, R-1870/71/72, R-1874) Combining elegance and practicality with optimal cooking functionality, Sharp Electronics Corporation is adding sensor models (R-1510/1511/1514) to its most revolutionary line of Over the Range Carousel microwave ovens in more than twenty years - the R-1500 series. This line of Over the Range microwave ovens boasts a sleek, elegant design to fit the decor of any kitchen. The control panel is hidden behind the door, giving the glass front a clean, sophisticated look. In addition, the 14 1/8-inch turntable is the largest in its class, ensuring it can accommodate even the biggest casserole dish. Sharp recently introduced the Over the Range microwave in bisque (R-1502), and a stainless steel model will be introduced in late summer (model R-1514). New Stainless Steel Sensor Microwave Ovens (models R-1754, R-1514, R-1874 and R-930CS/530ES/430CS) Sharp's stainless steel, sensor line combines advanced, easy-to-use- technology with high-style and space-saving design. Emerging as a central cooking tool in contemporary kitchens, Sharp's stainless steel microwave ovens allow consumers to integrate the microwave with other stainless appliances, while the sensor technology automatically determines optimum cooking times and power levels by sensing the vapors foods emit as they cook. Sharp's stainless steel, sensor microwave ovens have been designed to meet the growing demand for sophisticated equipment in the home, as well as to fit into today's kitchen design trends. These microwaves not only saves valuable counter space but also have a sleek design and are available in neutral colors including pale green.
