Samsung Introduces Hi8 Analog Camcorders
Claude Frank, Samsung's Director of Digital Video/Audio, said "Samsung's global capability to manufacture superior products for the digital realm makes us able to produce such a camcorder of this quality and at such great value to the consumer. Samsung is committed to being a major player in the camcorder space and these two newest models are good examples of how Samsung is building on our success in the category."
Both models include the Worldwide Multisystem Output, which allows consumers to hookup their camcorder to almost any TV while vacationing in a foreign country and playback their video in either NTSC or PAL formats. Each features a 22x optical zoom (880x digital), a 270,000 pixel CCD, backlight compensation, a 2.5" Active Matrix LCD, a video light and Samsung's Easy-Q and Custom-Q buttons for easy access to preset or customized settings.
Samsung's SC-L770 is the first Hi8 analog camcorder to include a USB connection. Accommodating easy transfer of video to a computer, this USB connection will appeal to consumers looking for a future proof solution. Added features for the SC-770 include a digital image stabilizer, a snapshot mode and a picture-in-picture function for use with digital zoom.
Samsung's SC-L700 and SC-L770 are currently available for $299 (MSRP) and $399 (MSRP) respectively.
