PRO Dealers Make it Easy to Get Prints from Digital Cameras

May 5, 2003 – Photographic Research Organization, Inc. (PRO) announces the availability of a customized version of Trevoli Ltd.’s Photo Finale, an affordable digital photography software application, to PRO’s digital camera customers. Available through PRO member locations nationwide, Photo Finale is a software application that allows consumers to organize, enhance, share on their PC, and to print digital camera photos through their local PRO dealer. It includes features for printing in almost all available sizes and layouts, photo editing and special effects, the ability to create photo Web sites, photos for e-mail, and more.

“Many digital camera owners want to do more then just e-mail their pictures to friends and family, they still want a physical print to show others or to put in a photo album or frame,” said Mike Worswick, PRO president and director of product development. “Photo Finale allows them to do just that. With PRO dealers offering Photo Finale software to their digital camera customers, we’re providing a service that is sure to become a valuable benefit to our digital imaging customers.”

Ordering Prints
Because printing at home can be slow and costly per print, consumers can chose to have prints made at their local PRO retailer. To do so, consumers simply press a button on the computer screen that says, “Buy Print”. They are then directed to their local PRO retailer for printing. When ordering prints through their retailer, consumer can be sure to receive high quality prints on real photo paper at a cost far less then printing at home. And, unlike inkjet prints, genuine high-quality photographic prints from their local PRO dealer will last a long time. Once an order has been placed, consumers can then choose to either have their printed images mailed to them or they can pick them up at the PRO dealer location.

Software Features
The PRO version of Photo Finale offers a unique combination of professional level features and ease of use. Some examples of these features include red-eye removal, high quality image browsing with interactive sizing of thumbnail images, the ability to create customized photo Web sites, watch slide shows while listening to MP3 or WMA music, and renaming multiple photos with one click. Multi-level undo/redo and interactive JPEG optimization are also provided.

System Requirements: Photo Finale 2.0 will run on Windows XP/ME/98 and 2000. It requires 64 megabytes of Memory and 40 megabytes of free disk space.

Supported File Formats: JPG, BMP, TIFF, PNG, and Adobe Photoshop file formats are supported for viewing, saving, printing, and conversion.

The following formats are supported for viewing, printing, and conversion: JPEG 2000, Canon (.CRW), Nikon (.NEF), Fuji FinePix (.RAF), Minolta (.MRW), Olympus (.ORF).
