PrimeFilm 1800AFL Film Scanner Loads, Feeds and Scans Film Strips and Rolls
The PF 1800AFL is Designed for Efficiency and Ease-of-Use
The PF 1800AFL makes it easy to save and store digitized images to hard disk, zip drive, CD-R, CD-RW or any other storage media. Images can be shared with family or others quickly and easily by uploading the files to a Web site or sending them via email.
The PF 1800AFL's Auto Film Loader provides efficient batch handling capability for film strips and rolls of up to 40 uncut frames, without the use of film holders, while maintaining the same high-level scanning capability that has come to be expected of Pacific Image film scanners. This is made possible by the core advantage of PF 1800AFL's automatic film conveyance and auto-focus mechanism, as well as its full function user interface that includes Pacific Image's color management profile and advanced color algorithm.
PF 1800AFL has 1800dpi optical resolution, 42-bit color mode, and 3.2 dynamic range. These features ensure lifelike color reproduction and preserve every photographic detail. Negative film can be scanned in just 23 seconds, then restored, retouched or enhanced with special effects.
Powerful Software Package Included
PF 1800AFL uses Pacific Image's proprietary driver, CyberView 35. Users can quickly select which frames to scan with the PF 1800AFL. Once the film strip or roll has been loaded and fed through the PF 1800AFL, a preview screen appears from which the user can inspect six frames at a time and select just the ones he or she wishes to scan. Users can also feed their roll films into PF 1800AFL, walk away, and return with an already completed task. The application software comes with Photoshop Elements, the latest version of Adobe's renowned software developed for the main stream digital photography market. Its On-Line Service Wizard, Red Eye Remover, and Thumbnail Drag and Drop functions make digital imaging easier than ever. The popular software together with the new auto film loading features create a high-quality high-value scanning package.
The unit, which weighs just 4.85 pounds and measures 9.37" x 4.05" x 6.97", connects via USB port to any Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 or Mac OS version 8.6 or later system equipped with a USB solution (OS X will be updated later on PIE's Web site). The front sliding door provides sleek operation when scanning mounted slides in a small workspace. Set-up is a snap. Users may choose either Twain compliant for their PC system, or plug-in for their Macintosh.
