Popular Photography & Imaging Selects DxO Analyzer

July 12, 2004 – DO Labs, a software company focused on research in image processing to enhance image quality, announces that Popular Photography & Imaging, the world's largest imaging magazine, has selected DxO Analyzer for use in their internationally acclaimed testing laboratory.

The DxO Analyzer has been installed in the Popular Photography test lab and joins the numerous instruments, databases, and computer programs that are used to generate objective test measurement data for the latest generation of digital cameras and lenses. Beginning with a feature on Anti-Shake technologies in the August 2004 issue, this DxO Analyzer data will assist the magazine’s editors in evaluating camera and lens performance and image quality.

According to John Owens, Popular Photography & Imaging’s senior vice president and group editorial director, “Our lab is famous for accurate and reliable state-of-art camera and lens testing and we look forward to the contribution that DxO Analyzer will make.”

DxO Analyzer adoption is fast growing worldwide
Most recently, in addition to U.S.-based Popular Photography & Imaging, the FNAC photographic test laboratory, a European leader in photographic consumer testing, also announced it has adopted DxO Analyzer software to measure the optical quality of digital cameras that they test. FNAC is a European leader in specialized distribution with 108 stores in 8 countries plus partnerships in Asia and Latin America.

The newly-published ‘FNAC file – digital cameras summer 2004’ presents 60 digital cameras, all tested using DxO Analyzer. “We are always on the lookout for better tools and methods for carrying out our tests,” explains Victor Jachimowicz, director of the FNAC Test Laboratory, “The DxO Analyzer software represents a veritable revolution in digital camera image quality measurement. So it’s only natural that we should incorporate it into our testing.”

Luc Marin, DO Labs’ vice president of Business Development ‘Photography’, adds, “We are honored that Popular Photography & Imaging has embraced our DxO Analyzer as a cornerstone of their world-renowned testing facility. We are equally pleased that FNAC, the European reference in camera testing is utilizing our DxO Analyzer and now includes it in their measurement protocols, as this only serves to further reinforce the recognition of our DxO technology.”

Introduced last February by the Paris based company DO Labs - specializing in image enhancement software - DxO Analyzer software has also made a place for itself in just a few months with top national and international enthusiast media titles as the reference tool for digital camera quality measurement – impressing international heavyweights like “Chasseurs d’Images”, “Le Photographe”, “Luminous Landscape”, “Pictchallenge” and “FOTO Digitale”.

DxO Analyzer is a software system for measuring the optical quality of digital cameras. DxO Analyzer makes it possible to very easily measure the principle phenomena affecting the quality of digital camera images: blur, noise, geometric distortion, vignetting, and chromatic aberrations, with an accuracy and level of detail never before attained.
