Pictorico Introduces Resin-Coated (RC) Photo Gallery Glossy Paper

Newest product in the premiere ink jet media line looks and feels like traditional photographic paper
August, 2001- Pictorico Ink Jet Media just announced the introduction of their resin-coated (RC) Photo Gallery Glossy Paper, the tenth product in Pictorico’s line of high-quality ink jet media, and a new addition to its Photo Gallery series. “Even though digital photography and digital printing have begun to replace the 35 mm process, photographers of all levels still love the feel of traditional photo paper,” said Chip Pryor, Pictorico’s national brand manager. “Our new media represents the best of both worlds. An ink jet printout on Photo Gallery Glossy Paper delivers outstanding photo reproduction and it’s virtually indistinguishable from a 35 mm print processed at the lab. The two look and feel the same.”

Both sides of the Photo Gallery Glossy Paper are covered with a polyethylene laminate that gives traditional silver halide photo prints added durability. To create this new product, the company’s engineers applied Pictorico’s advanced, patented ceramic-based coating on top of the resin-coated paper. The result is a sheet with a sleek, brilliant high-gloss finish and the look and feel of traditional photo paper. As with all of the Pictorico products, the Photo Gallery Glossy Paper is smudge-free, water-resistant and compatible with virtually all ink jet printers.

The new media extends Pictorico’s Photo Gallery series, which was designed especially for professional photographers and advanced amateurs. The series, which combines the most advanced coating technologies with exhibition-grade substrates, also includes Photo Gallery Hi-Gloss White Film. Both Photo Gallery Glossy Paper and Photo Gallery Hi-Gloss White Film are ideal for exhibitions, professional portfolios and presentations.

The Photo Gallery Glossy Paper will be previewed at the Pictorico booth at PhotoPlus East in New York, November 1 – 3, 2001, and will become available in the US market in late fall 2001.
