Photographic Prints Galore: Featuring Jay Maisel

July 2003—Professional Photographers of America’s 2003 International Print Exhibit will feature the work of internationally renowned photographer Jay Maisel. Maisel’s display will be among approximately 4,000 prints that will hang in the Las Vegas Convention Center, July 27-29. Together, these award-winning prints from all over the globe make up the largest annual exhibit of professional photography in the world.

Maisel will receive PPA’s prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award at the awards ceremony that rounds out the group’s annual convention, Imaging USA, where this magnificent print exhibit will stand.

Maisel’s talent and accomplishments as a commercial photographer are widely recognized. His fresh ideas have impressed creatives at some of the world’s most recognized corporations, such as American Express, AT&T, Chrysler, Coca-Cola, Heinz, IBM, Kodak, Nikon, PepsiCo, Polaroid, LIFE, National Geographic and Sports Illustrated.

In addition to his 40 years of producing work for corporations, his images appear in a number of books and art collections. Maisel’s work has appeared at solo exhibits on 20 different occasions and also as a part of 20 different group exhibits.

The exhibit that will host his work at Imaging USA will also consist of the most elegantly crafted images that were submitted to PPA’s International Print Competition in 2003. These images have been accepted into the association’s well known General and Loan Collections, which are considered to be the finest examples of work in the photographic industry.

Other special displays will include prints from the British Institute of Professional Photographers, the American Society of Photographers and the recipients of PPA’s new Imaging Excellence Award, which honors members who have received a master’s degree from the association and continue to win recognition in the prestigious International Print Competition.
