PENTAX Expands Optio Digital Line With Optio 430RS and Optio 330RS Cameras
June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- PENTAX Corporation expands its digital product line by introducing two innovative digital still cameras, the Optio 430RS and the Optio 330RS. Each features a compact and dynamic design that makes them some of the smallest digital cameras available on the market. The Optio 430RS and the Optio 330RS offer the digital clarity of 4.0 and 3.2 megapixels respectively (effective pixels) and provide high-quality images with impressive all-around performance.
The exterior of the Optio 430RS and the Optio 330RS has been crafted from stainless steel for a sophisticated and striking appearance. Each camera incorporates an ultra-compact 3X optical zoom lens, which retracts in two stages whenever the power is switched off, for even more compact dimensions. The additional power of a 2X digital zoom is available for a combined capacity of 6X zooming.
Smooth, stress-free operation is achieved with simplified image processing circuitry and software. A turn of the conveniently located mode dial controls the selection of shooting and playback modes (Standard, Night Scene, Metered Manual, Movie, 3D image and Digital filter). DPOF and protection settings can be adjusted and images can be deleted with direct key operation. A variety of other operations can be done with ease using the four-way controller and its central "OK" button. Viewing and composing is convenient and simple via the high resolution, 1.6 inch LCD monitor.
Of course both models offer easy PC connection and are USB compatible. They come equipped with a CD-ROM containing a USB driver as well as the popular ACDSee imaging software that allows you to further enhance your pictures after you download them to a computer. When it comes time to print, both cameras are Exif Print (Exif2.2) and PRINT Image Matching II compatible as well.
With 11MB of built-in memory, both models provide the added convenience of being able to store images without the need for additional recording media. They are also compatible with CompactFlash, and it is easy to transfer images between CompactFlash media and the built-in memory.
Digital photography allows you to do so much more with your images at the time you shoot. The Digital filter mode gives you the power to control the tone of your pictures as you take them. Choose from monochrome and sepia shooting as well as a range of other tones (red, pink, yellow, green, blue and purple). Both cameras even feature a Slim filter, which offers different degrees of slimming.
The Optio 430RS and the Optio 330RS are capable of dealing with various kinds of light without compromising quality. They are equipped with White Balance Mode which allows the selection of settings for Auto, Daylight, Shade, Tungsten Light, and Fluorescent Light, preserving natural colors in each set of circumstances. There is also a manual setting which gives you more creative freedom to experiment.
Other unique and useful features include Continuous shooting, Interval shooting, World Time function, alarm clock, Histogram display, metering options, Image Protection, file size adjustment, image cropping and multilingual operations.
And finally, a helpful convenience for these cameras is the optional waterproof Case O-WP1 that lets you relax whenever you are on the beach or taking shots near or in water. It is made from a tough polycarbonate resin and guards your Optio 430RS and Optio 330RS camera against damage from water. The case also allows the camera to be submersed and withstand pressure up to a depth of up to 132 feet (40m), so you can even use it while snorkeling or scuba diving!
