Panasonic Introduces Personal Ice Cream Maker

Panasonic EZ Ice Cream MakerAugust 8, 2003 - Panasonic introduces the EZ Ice Cream Maker, a personal-sized, cordless ice cream maker that prepares delicious, fresh ice cream right in the consumer's freezer. Combining the speed and easy operation of an electronic unit with cordless convenience, the new EZ Ice Cream Maker, model BH-941P, is the only cordless ice cream maker that incorporates advanced microprocessor technology to monitor the entire ice cream making process. In addition, The EZ Ice Cream Maker is the only ice cream maker that does not require pre-freezing, so it significantly cuts preparation time.

"Panasonic designed the personal EZ Ice Cream maker for those who want an easy way to create homemade ice cream, but who may not have the freezer area or storage space that traditional ice cream makers may require," says Dick Muchanic, Vice President of Panasonic's Home Appliance Division. "The EZ Ice Cream Maker makes it so easy to enjoy preservative-free, naturally flavored ice cream and sorbet. There is no need to pre-freeze the container, or attend to the machine to mix ingredients. And it does not require the addition of salt or ice. Everything is done automatically, right in your freezer."

Consumers can start to enjoy home-made ice cream in three to five hours by following just three steps: preparing the ingredients as directed in the included recipe booklet, pressing the start button, and placing the unit in the freezer.

During the ice cream making process, the unit's built-in microprocessor monitors the consistency of the ingredients and mixes them as necessary until they harden into the ideal, velvety-smooth texture.

The machine features an exclusive, no pre-freeze stainless steel container with a maximum capacity of three cups (1.5 pint).

The unit operates on two included long-life Lithium batteries that last for up to 25 uses.

Extremely compact and lightweight, the ice cream maker is easy to store when not in use.

The BH-941P EZ Ice Cream Maker includes a booklet with eleven recipes for a variety of home-made ice cream, ice milk and sorbet treats. It is currently available in retail outlets and has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $49.95.
