Nokia 3250 Music Phone Announced Today is Based on Symbian OS

September 26, 2005 – Symbian Ltd. today announced that the Nokia 3250 music phone which was launched this morning by Nokia is based on Symbian OS, the leading, open standards-based operating system for advanced mobile phones. The Nokia 3250 is a Series 60 music-driven mobile phone that features dedicated music keys and storage for up to 750 songs.

The number of Symbian OS phones in the market is growing rapidly as more than 200 carriers worldwide sell over 50 Symbian OS-based models from all the world’s leading handset makers. More than 14m Symbian OS phones were shipped in the first half of this year alone, taking the installed base of Symbian OS phones to almost 40m phones.
