No Hassle Lighting with the Internet Photo Studio

November 2002 -- The Samigon ‘Internet Photo Studio’ provides a compact, easy-to-use lighting solution for anyone who needs to digitally photograph small items for the internet, catalogs, industry, scientific research, or their own personal pleasure. The studio consists of two 8½ x 11 light units, one above the item being photographed and one underneath it. The units are connected to each other by adjustable side brackets, with each unit containing a 5000o daylight-balanced fluorescent bulb. The units can be illuminated simultaneously or individually, allowing the photographer to quickly and easily provide even, shadow-free illumination of the subject.

Two clips located on the top light unit can hold a variety of background materials including paper, fabric, and mylar. The background material curves in an attractive “sweep” behind the item. It is so simple and quick to change background material, you will probably find yourself becoming creative and shooting the item on several different backgrounds for a variety of effects.

In addition, special lighting effects are easily produced by placing gel filters over the light units. Also, the height and tilt of the light units are fully adjustable to control unwanted glare and reflections.
