Nextel Enhances Its Suite of Mobile Office Email Solutions

RESTON, Va., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Nextel Communications, Inc. today announced the launch of Mobile Email, the newest addition to Nextel's suite of Mobile Office Email solutions. Now, Nextel Wireless Web customers who have POP3* accessible email accounts at the office or email accounts with Internet Service Providers (ISP) such as Earthlink, Mindspring or Prodigy will be able to access both their existing business and personal email accounts from their Nextel phone without having to create a new email address.
Mobile Email is the perfect compliment to Nextel's existing Mobile Office Email solutions. Mobile Email allows users to read, delete, reply, forward and compose email messages from their existing POP3 email accounts. In addition, Mobile Email allows users to receive alerts whenever they receive new or high priority email messages. Users can even set up customized filters giving them the freedom to only receive alerts if a new email message fits their personalized filtering criteria. Mobile Email also allows users to import existing contacts from Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express and/or set up personalized lists of contacts that can then be used to place calls or address email messages.

In addition to Mobile Email for small businesses, the Nextel Mobile Office Email suite also offers Nextel customers two other ways to access email via their Nextel phone. Business customers who use Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Domino can get secure real-time access to their existing corporate email accounts through Nextel's partnership with Wireless Knowledge. Customers who already use Microsoft's MSN Hotmail can access their account through MSN Mobile on their Nextel phone.
