New Trend Report Highlights Upcoming Looks and Colors in Home Décor
October 10, 2005 – Contemporary styles with clean, sleek lines will make a comeback in home décor, according to the Levolor Window Fashions 2006 Trend Report, which highlights upcoming, popular looks and colors for home décor. The report, which includes five incoming trends for homes in 2006, is compiled by a Levolor group of experts, including industry insiders, designers and marketing leaders who conduct research throughout the year through various industry shows and trend research.
“Our 2006 Trend Report shows homeowners what will be hot next year, as well as suggests colors and product choices to help homeowners modify the looks of their home,” says Beverly Kastel, marketing director for Levolor Window Fashions. “In addition to helping drive new product design, we compile this information to provide solutions for homeowners looking for décor and window treatments advice and wanting to duplicate the looks they see in magazines and on TV.”
Levolor has identified five key trends for 2006 including: Soho Loft, Spanish Lodge, European Enchantment, Le Femme and Eclectic Comfort. Following are the trends Levolor experts forecast for the upcoming year:
Soho Loft
This trend flaunts minimalism to a striking effect. Cool metal finishes, mid-tone woods and smooth silks and cottons are represented here. Colors include accents of orange and green.
Spanish Lodge
Demonstrably masculine, Spanish Lodge displays the craftwork of man – hand-hewn, hand hammered, etched and weatherworn woods and metals. Homeowners will see substantial leathers, suede and denim; carved details, deep tufting and nail head trim. Colors include bittersweet oranges, vibrant reds and sincere yellows.
European Enchantment
This trend leans on timeless flourishes – aged brass, bleached inlays, formal bamboo accents – and classic patterns: paisleys, damasks and florals. It is both masculine (cleaner lines) and feminine (distinct ornamentation), while exuding plush-ness, comfort and drama. Colors include greens, golds and purples.
Le Femme
Femininity returns and proclaims that pretty for pretty’s sake is just fine. Le Femme highlights rich woods, polished granite and marble, champagne finishes, silks and velvets. Colors highlighted include pinks, rosewoods and lilacs.
Eclectic Comfort
Self-expression is most definitely IN in 2006. Eclectic Comfort highlights unexpected materials, finishes, and colors, including painted woods, aged brass, satin nickel, cotton patterns mixed with silks and velvets and the complete range of greens. Originality drives this new trend for homeowners.
