New Technology Allows Palm OS Users to Download Software Wirelessly
Feb. 8 -- SkipWire releases DownStream, a free Palm OS software program that provides users with the ability to download programs wirelessly. Using DownStream, Palm OS users can delete applications that aren't being used, and download programs at a later time, keeping device memory clear.
SkipWire, the Palm technology division of Blue Squirrel, is proud to open its door to their new Web site, www.skipwire.com. SkipWire is the missing wireless link between the World Wide Web, and Palm OS devices from Palm, Inc.
SkipWire offers a variety of benefits to Palm Users:
- Wirelessly browse through hundreds of popular Palm applications by subject or title.
- Evaluate, download, and purchase Palm software wirelessly.
- Applications downloaded or purchased are automatically stored in a "MySkipWire" account.
Visitors can sign up for a free MySkipWire account, a secure service that remembers which Palm OS software applications have been placed in a personalized account. MySkipWire retains the collection of software, allowing a verified user device to wirelessly add, and delete selections instantaneously.
An Advanced MySkipWire Account will become available in Q2 of this year, giving palm users additional services including: wireless upload, email attachment conversion, and data transfer/storage capabilities. "SkipWire brings with it many technologies that will transform the Palm device into the wireless future," says Tron Black, CEO. "We have partnered with key companies such as RegNet, GroupServe's GroupPort, TealPoint, iGo Corporation, Land-J Technologies, Blue Nomad, Qvadis, and Ansyr Technology Corporation to better serve the wireless Palm community."
