New Spa Atlantis Oceanfront Resort Opens on Pompano Beach

Aug. 7, 2002--The newly built Spa Atlantis Oceanfront Health and Fitness Resort officially re-opened for business. After being awarded "Spa of the Year" in 1999, Executive Director Carol Minkin decided to take her vision to the next level. The brand new eye-catching ten-story yellow and white oceanfront building is situated right on Pompano Beach, about 30 minutes north of the Ft. Lauderdale airport, and has 89 guest rooms and suites, in addition to greatly expanded spa and salon services and fitness programs. The award-winning design of this destination resort was conceived by Schwab, Twitty & Hanser through their subsidiary ACI Architectural Group, and prior to its completion the plans had already received the 2001 Award of Design Excellence.
