New Line Home Entertainment Releases Six UMD Titles for PSP
August 31, 2005 – New Line Home Entertainment recently announced plans to release six titles on Universal Media Disc (UMD) for Sony’s PSP (PlayStation Portable). Available at retail on October 4, 2005, Elf, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), The Butterfly Effect, Freddy Vs. Jason, Blade and Secondhand Lions will be marked at a $19.99 SRP. The announcement was made by Stephen Einhorn, New Line Home Entertainment’s president and chief operating officer.
“New Line Home Entertainment has maintained its tradition of delivering quality motion picture programming and cutting edge special features, and the release of these six films on UMD represents our continued commitment to the evolution of the video marketplace,� said Einhorn. “This exciting new format combines outstanding picture quality and portability to offer the consumer a unique entertainment experience.�
New Line Home Entertainment has always been at the forefront of DVD technology. Pioneering the first DVDs to feature director commentary, deleted scenes, animated menus and DVD-ROM enhancement, the Company is also responsible for creating the “Easter egg� hidden feature which has established a cult following among DVD enthusiasts.
