New FinePix F401 and FinePix F402 Digital CamerasPHOTOKINA 2002– Fuji Photo Film Co., Ltd. is proud to announce the international debut of the FinePix F402 digital camera incorporating Fujifilm’s 3rd-Generation Super CCD. A companion to the currently available FinePix F401, the FinePix F402 is designed to offer the new style and value of today’s point-and-shoot digital cameras. Since the 1998 introduction of the MX-700, the world’s first consumer-use 1.5-megapixel digital camera, Fujifilm has consistently offered an outstanding line of consumer digital cameras. The FinePix 4700 Zoom, released in 2000, was the first model to incorporate the company’s Super CCD sensor, earning widespread praise for its superlative image quality.
FinePix models in the years since then have benefited from further improvements to
Super CCD technology. The result has been enhanced total image quality, with class-leading
sensitivity, rich tonality, high S/N ratio, natural color and better video recording
capabilities.
Like the FinePix F401, which was introduced this summer and has already proven
popular among consumers, the F402 incorporates Fujifilm’s exclusive 3rd-Generation
Super CCD. With 2.1 million effective pixels, both cameras deliver superb quality
images of 2304 x 1724 (4.0 million) recording pixels. Thanks to the new Super CCD,
both cameras offer an unrivaled wide range of sensitivities, from ISO 200 equivalency
to ultra high-speed ISO 800* and 1600*. While the FinePix F401 features a Super EBC Fujinon 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to 38 – 114mm coverage on a 35mm camera), the new FinePix F402 incorporates a Super EBC Fujinon lens (equivalent to 35mm on a 35mm camera). This makes the camera body slimmer and more compact, producing an ultra-compact profile that fits easily into any pocket. Both cameras have smooth digital zooming functionality of up to 3.6x (in 640 x 480 pixels) to help bring the action right up close.
The two cameras feature stylish and compact design in fine brushed-metal, with the
attractive cool blue lights that make the FinePix F401 and F402 favorites among both
male and female users. The FinePix F401 is a compact, lightweight digital camera
(85mm W x 64.9mm H x 27.5mm D, 185g*), while the FinePix F402 is an ultra-compact,
slim model (77mm W x 69mm H x 22mm D, 120g*). The FinePix F402
supports xD-Picture Card, the brand new digital camera media that provides expanded
media capability. Both cameras incorporate a host of features, including Movie Recording with sound, high-speed Continuous Shooting (up to 4 frames at 0.3 second intervals), Voice Memo capability for up to 30 seconds of audio, and more. Further adding to their convenience is the optional PictureCradle, which combines battery recharging and PC connections into one easy-to-use unit. The FinePix F402 is scheduled for release late autumn. (The FinePix F401 is now available.) []Similar |
